Luke Skywalker, Pinnacle Jedi-ness?

This is an interesting character sketch of Luke Skywalker.

I haven’t really taken to much of the Star Wars material that has come out lately.

I loved the movies as a child. Then there were some books. The original trilogy from Timothy Zahn – which was the origin of some fantastic characters like Grand Admiral Thrawn, Talon Kardde and Mara Jade.

There was a one-shot by Dave Wolverton, which brought us the Night Sisters and the planet Dathomir.

I read the Kathy Tyers, but didn’t like it as much. The same with the trilogy by Kevin J. Anderson. I kind of lost interest after that. Though I did jump when I heard Timothy Zahn had written two more Star Wars books.

What I’m getting at is that I explored some of the extended Star Wars Universe, but I’m far from an expert.

A lot of it is less than desirable. I think the Mandalorian is surprisingly good. I liked Ahsoka and even The Book of Boba Fett

The person who made this video seems to know all of it and he uses it to make an interesting point about Luke. I don’t usually like the whole “ultimate power of love angle”. I mean come on, I’m a dude.

But I acknowledge its importance.

The thing is, Luke was the first Jedi the world got to watch go from zero to Jedi so there’s a certain attachment to him. So he’s the focus for much of the fiction written. This person has taken all of that and used it to create a theory that basically works.
