John Cusack

The video that’s been going around of John Cusack talking political issues is so disappointing. I thought he would be smarter, or at least more informed. I don’t know why I thought that. Actors are just people that are talented at playing pretend. Nothing more.

He repeated the same old tired lines: Elon Musk is cutting humanitarian aid!

Which, of course, he isn’t. Musk isn’t cutting anything. He’s advising. And USAID is not humanitarian aid. The logic behind this seems to be that the last three letters of the agency spell aid, so that must be what the department does. Not just any aid, humanitarian aid.

What’s next, thinking that DOD has something to do with people who Over Dose?

Of course, this is coming from people who watched Antifa using violence to try and bring fear to anyone who has an opinion who differs from their own but thinking that they’re anti-fascist because that’s what they call themselves.

Does that work for anyone? Can I call myself something I’m not and magically make it so?

Because really, I’m King of the World!

Huh.

Didn’t work.

Well, it didn’t work Antifa either. Not really. They’re only human and not even talented at playing pretend, making them even lesser than actors, which is pretty sad.

Cusack also trotted out the tired old “Musk did a Nazi salute”. He didn’t address the part where Musk first yelled “my heart goes out to you” and then made a grabbing motion at his heart before flinging it out to the crowd. Cusack probably thought it was supposed to be some sort of cover for the real intention.

I’m sure that’s right. Also the years of corny jokes Musk has been making were just cover for that one moment when he could use a corny joke as cover to throw a salute in front the world. Then he was on camera for the 10,000th time in his life and he finally saw his one chance.

He saw his chance the way people lately are seeing Nazis everywhere, especially where they don’t exist

It’s so absurd that people can’t see how absurd this is.

I usually try and be more patient and understanding than this, but sometimes I get fed up with the nonsense. It’d be one thing if there was some rationality coming from that quarter.

Well, it could be worse, or I could be worse, at any rate. I could be throwing vile insults at them rather than trying to explain what they’re doing that I don’t like and why. Or, I could be going out and using violence against people who have different political opinions. But no, you have to be anti-fascist to behave that way, rather than being opposed to fascism and fascistic behavior, the way I am.
