The Kind of a Song That Makes me Want to Pray Just to Thank God for Making a Universe Full of Beautiful Things

I have no idea where I heard this song originally, but I was hearing the rhythm to it in my head all day yesterday. I could hear the tones of the female vocals, but I just could not get what she was actually saying. Without something solid like that, I hadn’t a prayer of finding this song.

I went to bed without hearing it,

I woke up around 12:45 AM to use the bathroom and make some cocoa. It’s currently 9 degrees and this 125 year-old house has old insulation and windows, and I was cold.

During the first couple of drinks, I got the word bitter sweet and “fall back in love eventually, yeah yeah yeah”.

That was enough for Google tell me who and what the song was.

The YouTube Channel where I listened to it the first time was no the band’s official channel, I but I didn’t really care. I was reading the comments and the second one down was a guy talking about how he’d been hearing the song in his head all day but couldn’t remember the words and went to bed without finding it. He woke up at 3:AM with an entirely different line in his head and was able to find the song from that.

De. Ja. F***ing. Vu.

So apparently the song has a way of burrowing. It isn’t a new song, but I rather like it.

It’s exuberant in a sort of mellow way. Yes, that’s kind of an oxymoron, but it feels right. Art doesn’t have to make logical sense, (not at the top of the brain, at least). It’s supposed to evoke.

Though on second thought, maybe mellowly exuberant is kind of a cousin to bittersweet. Maybe.

Anyway, I’m sharing in case you might like it too.

“The bitter sweet between the my teeth,
Trying to find the in-betweens
Fall back in love eventually,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah”
